Steve and Jordan Fox leave for Honduras

I am headed back to Honduras for the fourth time, starting early Saturday, June 27 for 10 days. Our youngest son, Jordan, just graduated from high school, and has decided to defer his continuing education and is also leaving on Saturday to go, but to live and volunteer for the next 5 months. Jordan will be working on a variety of projects including micro credit, agriculture and housing projects.

I guess it's kind of my fault that he's developed this passion for the poor and underprivledged of the world...since I first took him there when he was 15 years old.

We often talk about Living the Dream, and for me...this is part of it. This particular project has been 2 years in the making for me. I have partnered withwww.mannarelief.org to take cutting edge nutitional supplements to supply to 100 severely malnurished children in 2 villages in southern Honduras....enough for one year. This is a new projec t for us, but not MannaRelief, as they are currently operating projects like mine in over 80 countries for the last 10 years. These children have no diversity in their diet, living in an area where the average household income is about $400 per year! It breaks my heart to go live among them for a time to see the needs and what we can do to help change their situation. How blessed we are to have this opportunity to serve them.

Helping the children through improved nutrition

While there, we will be meeting with the Mom's and kids to go through basic nutrition with a Canadian nurse who is there volunteering for 2 years and will be assisting us in this project on a monthly basis.
Thank you to my team and all of you!!
...living my dream

Our hope for each of you is to find and live your dreams. Continuing my trips to Honduras is living part of mine!! You all are a part of what we are doing in Central America because without you I may not have been able to do this.

I hope to be able to send along some pictures and stories while I'm there, but will more likely send something when I return.

Wherever you give of your time and energy, continue with passion. The people that you serve (family, church, charity...) need you and even if they don't always take time to say it, they really appreciate you.

Going to Central America, each time, is a fresh reminder of how easy it is for me to take so much for granted. Each time I am reminded of what is important in life and how I continually need to rearrange my priorities back to where they should be. I need that reminder from time to time. I never return exactly the same person as before I go...and that's good. As I seek to better understand the culture and needs of the wonderful people of Central America, I am continually amaze d how every timeI will get so much more than I could ever give.

On behalf of my team, thank you. May you focus on and enjoy the important things in life, time with your families, and all the blessings that we have. We wish you happiness, good health and hope and the best that life has to offer. Life is good.

God bless you.

Sincerely,
Steve Fox, CFP, EPC
