Valentine's Bistro supports Haiti

Another sold-out crowd attended the eighth annual Valentine's Bistro, held at Calvin Christian School (Dundas) on Feb. 13.  The evening raised nearly $30,000 towards community development work in Haiti through the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC). These funds will go to a program that is approved to receive 2:1 CIDA funding through the Federal Government, resulting in a total of nearly $90,000 for the project in Haiti.

Guests at the Valentine's Bistro heard from Ken Little, senior project manager for CRWRC Disaster Response. Having visited Haiti just days after the earthquake, he shared not only some of his observations about the current situation, but also spoke about plans to assist Haitians over the months and years to come.

The Valentine's Bistro once again featured the music of Jorge Lopez and Mariachi Mexico Amigo.
